If you have been waiting to get your hands on the latest Apple desktop computer, the all new Mac Pro, tomorrow is the day. Apple has announced that the new round Mac Pro will be available starting tomorrow, December 19. We spent hands on time with the new Mac Pro if you want more details on the machine.
Apple redesigned the Mac Pro into a smaller round computer that looks a lot like a vase sitting on the desk. Despite the smaller footprint, the new Mac Pro offers improved performance compared to previous generations. Apple says that the new machine has the latest Intel Xeon processors, workstation class GPUs, and more.
The enclosure is the most eye-catching feature of the machine and is 9.9-inches tall and one-eighth the volume of previous machines. The new Mac Pro can be purchased with Intel Xeon processors featuring four, six, eight, or twelve cores. The processors use Turbo Boost tech and can run at up to 3.9 GHz.
The desktop can also be fitted with a pair of AMD FirePro GPUs offering up to eight times the graphics performance of the previous generation Mac Pro. The base Mac Pro 3.7 GHz machine with a Xenon E5 quad core processor, dual FirePro D300 GPUs, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage will start at $2999.
