New Lithium batteries last eight times longer

Battery life for laptops is often a huge problem. I know it is for me. There just never is enough juice to get me through the day–let alone a few hours! But now researchers at Hanyang University in South Korea have come up with with a new batch of Lithium batteries that can last up to eight times as long as any current laptop battery.

This is truly impressive. These new batteries use cathode materials in the batteries. Plus, any graphite that is currently being used was replaced with silicon. All of this makes for more efficient and longer-lasting batteries.

I personally can’t wait for these to get to the market. No longer will I have to worry about getting the table next to the outlet at Starbucks or worry that I’ll be out of luck if there’s a power outage.
