Multiplayer and 6-player co-op comes to Resident Evil 6

Some cool news has surfaced about the next installment in the Resident Evil series. When Resident Evil 6 lands on store shelves it will bring with it some new multiplayer action online. It's common for video games to support online play today and for many online is the only way to go. The game will also get interesting sounding co-op modes as well.

There are some unanswered questions about the 2-player co-op mode. Namely, we want to know if the players are on split screen like the old days of gaming, or if it supports local networks for more than one console so each player gets their own full screen. The co-op play extends to the online space too.

Anywhere from 2-6 players can team up for play via the internet. That sounds like fun; it's always nice in these sort of games where enemies can come from anywhere to have someone to watch your back. The full details on the online modes aren't available just yet, but they are called out in the Features and Online Features section of the Microsoft page about the game. The trailer for the game launched last week.
