Moto X+1 leaks again with M-logo button

Motorola's new Moto X+1 just can't stay hidden, with the new Android smartphone continuing to spring up in the wild ahead of its expected official reveal later this week. The new flagship phone is believed to be among a multi-product line-up featuring at an event in Chicago on Thursday, but new leaks shed further light on its specifications and some of its more unusual features.

For instance, according to TK Tech News, which acquired these new images of the powered-up Moto X+1, the Motorola logo on the back of the phone isn't just a recessed dimple as it is on the Moto X.

Instead, it's believed to be a button in its own right, in fact the power button just as LG has done on the G3. According to the latest leaks, however, the Motorola button may also double as a function key depending on which app is running, though there's no indication of what that functionality might be.

Meanwhile, Motorola's flirtation with alternative materials continues apace. The Moto X+1 will be offered in everything from aluminum through wood, plastic, leather, and denim, it's suggested.

Verizon is tipped to have an exclusive carbon fiber Moto X+1 for the 2014 holidays.

The distinctive sensors on the front, though, are prompting some mixed predictions. Sources said to be within Motorola have variously suggested that they're intended to work along with "Moto Aware" as well as the Moto 360 smartwatch, or alternatively that they're 3D sensors much in the same way as the Fire Phone tracks faces.

We'll know more come Thursday's event in Chicago, where Motorola is also tipped to be unveiling a new mid-range handset and some sort of headset, alongside details about the Moto 360's pricing and full specifications.
