Moto G4 and G4 Plus update to Android 7.0 Nougat rolling out in India

Motorola has announced that its budget-friendly Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus smartphones, both of which were released earlier this year, are now receiving an update to Android 7.0 Nougat in India. The update, as expected, is giving handset owners all the Nougat features, including Android Doze, the multi-window view, and work mode, as well as some Motorola-centric features like new a new Moto action.

The Moto G line of phones is a relatively popular handset series amongst those who want inexpensive but quality phones. The Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are both newer to the market, having been launched earlier this year, and now they're finally getting their Nougat update. Owners who haven't received it yet should attempt to manually update via the phone's settings.

Per Motorola's update notes, handset owners who update will get Nougat's various features, including the ability to quacking switch between apps by double-tapping, the multi-window view for running apps side-by-side, and Work Mode if you're an Android for Work user. There's the improved Doze mode, a data saver, direct replies from notifications, and bundled notifications.

The other Nougat features are numerous, including custom quick settings, updated emoji, emergency information options, and more. There are also those Motorola features, including a Moto action for swiping to shrink the screen and using the fingerprint sensor to lock/unlock the screen, assuming you have the Moto G4 Plus.
