Mobius Final Fantasy coming to Steam with FF VII Remake crossover

Square Enix has tried to bring original Final Fantasy titles to mobile, but none has made it prouder than Mobius Final Fantasy. Raking in downloads and mostly (though not completely) positive remarks, the game brings a smidgen of some modern (read: 3D) FF elements in handheld servings. Now it wants to share that joy with PC gamers as it brings Mobius Final Fantasy to Steam in less than two weeks. And to further sweeten the pot, it is making a "collaboration" with the Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Although Mobius Final Fantasy was developed with the goal of bringing console graphics and experience to mobile, hardware limitations meant that, in the end, the game had to scale down said graphics and even the framerate. In the PC version, however, no such limits are needed and players can enjoy the full quality of the graphics, in 60 or 120 fps, even in 4K resolution.

In all other aspects, producer Yoshinori Kitase promises that the game will be exactly the same on PC as it is on mobile. Which does imply that the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake collaboration will be going out to both PC and mobile version. Or it better be, lest there be an angry mob outside Square Enix's gates.

This collaboration is basically a crossover of some parts of the FF7 Remake into the world of Mobius. Specifically, Cloud is described to have wandered off into the world of Palamecia. No other FF7 characters will be there, sadly, but the Guard Scorpion (first boss) and Mako Reactor will be making a cameo. In what context, you'll have to find out.

Mobius Final Fantasy will launch on Steam February 6th. The collab with Final Fantasy VII Remake will take place on February 7th. Kitase promises that save data can be shared between mobile and PC, allowing players to switch to the device they have at hand.
