Mighty Vibe returns to bring Spotify offline with you anywhere

Streaming is pretty much the de facto delivery and consumption method for digital content these days. So much so that getting access to offline content is ironically now a paid subscription feature rather than the default. But there will always be times when an Internet connection isn't available or isn't good enough for quality audio, let alone video streaming. And there are also times when you'd rather not bring your phone with you to increase its chances of survival. For both those cases, the Mighty Vibe, a.k.a. the Spotify iPod Shuffle, might be your cup of tea.

It might as well have been called the "Mighty 2.0" but "Mighty Vibe" does have a good vibe to it. The first gen Bluetooth clip launched in 2016 and while it was "OK" for an offline Spotify device, it was not without its flaws, the biggest of which are being addressed in Might 2.0 Vibe.

The improved Bluetooth connectivity is the biggest appeal of this second generation device. While designed to be used as a clip, not everyone might want putting it so close to their shoulders and necks. They might also want to leave the Vibe on a table briefly. The music player now supports both scenarios and even supports more Bluetooth audio devices.

Battery life has also been improved from 5 hours of the Mighty One to the 5+ hours of the Mighty Vibe. It's vague and not much but considering the 5 hours of the first Mighty didn't reach exactly that, anything more would still be an upgrade.

Unless you absolutely need those two improvements, you might want to stick with the old Mighty. The Mighty Vibe does cost the same $85.99 but does come with new Red and Blue color options. Mighty is about to roll out an update to its mobile apps that will also benefit users of the first Mighty.
