Microsoft Memory Mouse 8000 - Is It Really Necessary?
Microsoft is always trying to play catchup with their hardware offerings. Sony gets into console gaming, so they make the Xbox, Apple makes a killing off of the iPod, they make the Zune. Well, this time they're planning on revolutionizing the world with an idea for a new mouse that no one has ever thought of.
What's their big idea? No, making it ugly and uncomfortable isn't their big idea. They'll probably tell us that it's "sleek" and "fits your had perfectly," while it may do just that, my hand is cramping just looking at it. No, the big idea for their Memory Mouse 8000 is to put in 1GB of storage on the mouse. While other mice have done this, theirs is the first rechargeable mouse to do so. That's 1 point for Microsoft.
Seriously, am I missing something, who needs 1GB of storage on your mouse? Granted, the memory is on the wireless receiver, but who's going to want to take that out every time you leave the computer? I keep my flash drive on my keychain so it's always with me, I wouldn't ever consider carrying around my wireless receiver, even if it is the size of an ordinary flash drive.
