Mercedes-AMG G 63 and G 65 Exclusive Editions debut with sexy matte grey color

Mercedes has pulled the wraps off a couple new special edition SUVs in the G wagon range. The SUVs are the Mercedes-AMG G 63 and the Mercede-AMG G 65 Exclusive Editions. Both models were presented at the IAA in Germany. Mercedes is offering the Exclusive Editions in a special matte grey paint color called AMG Monza grey mango.

The color is optional for folks wanting something with more shine to it. Exclusive Editions are differentiated from normal G wagons by AMG racing stripes on the sides, rub strip insert in dark aluminum look and a spare tire cover painted in body color for the first time. The special SUV's ride on AMD lightweight alloy wheels.

The wheels are wrapped in 295/40R 21 tires and the G 63 wheels are 5-twin-spoke wheels in matte black. The G 65 has 21-inch wheels in 5-twin-spoke design that are ceramically polished. I mentioned that special matte grey paint finish, but Mercedes is also offering the Exclusive Editions in any other paint color in the Mercedes catalog.

The special touches continue on the inside of the G 63 and G 65 including two-tone leather instrument panels and AMG sport seats with two-tone upholstery in leather. There are six color options to choose from and buyers can get the seats trimmed in three colors including black carbon fiber leather side bolsters.

AMG carbon fiber or black designo piano lacquer trim is offered. Seat Comfort package is standard with climate controlled seats for driver and passenger. Other options include red seat belts, leather trimmed grab handles, and two-tine AMG performance steering wheel matching the interior colors. AMG G 63 Exclusive Edition starts at about $194,000 (163.125,20 euros) and the G 65 starts at $342,531 (287.658,70 euros).
