Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic Coupe and Cabrio get official

Mercedes has announced the new Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic Coupe and Cabriolet models. The two rides share the same underpinnings, including the 3.0L V6 biturbo engine that makes 390hp. That V6 engine is paired with the AMG Speedshift TCT 9G transmission.

The 4Matic all-wheel-drive system is rear-biased AMG performance enhanced system. That 3.0L V6 engine makes 23hp more than the previous version and cranks out 520 Nm of torque from 2500 to 5000 rpms. The car can accelerate from a stop to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds in coupe form and in 4.8 seconds on cabriolet form.

The top speed for both versions is electronically limited to 250 km/h. The car has an AMG radiator grille with twin louvre in matt iridium silver to guide the air. AMG also fits the car with special AMG light-alloy wheels. The wheels were aerodynamically optimized in a wind tunnel to improve flow around the wheels and increase efficiency.

The design of the wheels also helps channel air to cool the brakes. Out back the car has a twin tailpipe system and a diffuser to improve airflow at the rear. An optional AMG styling package is offered with a more expressive front splitter, broader side skirts, and painted portions on the rear bumper.

The interior has DINAMICA microfiber, leather and aluminum trim. Optional AMG Performance seats give lateral support for spirited driving. Those optional seats are heated, and climate controlled in three stages. The cabrio can have the sport seats fitted with Airscarf neck-level heating. Vehicle availability and pricing are unannounced.
