MediaCart does more than advertise and could be coming to a grocer near you

ShopRite is going to be the test chain for this new iteration of the MediaCart. For now its only going to a few select stores, but that could be a store near you, I just don't know whether to tell you to check the ShopRite or the Microsoft website to find out where the closest one is.

Microsoft is helping get this whole thing off the ground since its based off of Microsoft CE technology, but unlike previous implementations of something like this, this one is actually useful to the customer. I mean, a display is easy to ignore if it never does anything for you, but when you can use it to see what's on sale, check a store directory to find what you are looking for, and stuff like that, you are more likely to at least give it a glance every once in a while.

This is version 2.0 of the MediaCart, and they are hoping that it works out better than its predecessor, which they improved upon by listening to the users of the first version. If all goes well, we could be seeing these things everywhere, starting with the rest of the ShopRite chain.
