Back at the beginning of May, we had gotten an invitation to a Samsung Mobile event in New York on May 24th. After the Infuse 4G was announced on May 5th, we had hoped to see either the Galaxy Tab 10.1 or the Galaxy S II being announced at this event. But today, we received a terse message letting us know that the event has been postponed to “a later date”.
The Galaxy S II has been one of the most anticipated phones this year, with its beautiful Super AMOLED Plus display, its dual-core speed, and its great battery life, among other things. But sadly, there is to be no big announcement next week. We are just glad that we haven’t booked our hotel yet.
The other hoped-for announcement was of course, the Galaxy Tab 10.1, which we were handed at Google I/O last Tuesday. This tab was due out on June 8th, but now we wonders if that might be delayed a bit. We have noticed issues with our model, as syncing doesn’t work for example. You can see a review of the tab at our sister site Android Community.
And here is our sad little message, announcing the delay of the event:
The Samsung Mobile event scheduled for May 24th in New York has been postponed to a later date. We apologize for the inconvenience. We will be in touch soon with more details.
Everbody say it together: “Awwww.”
