Matrox Extio F2408 KVM extender breaks cover

Matrox is a big name in professional video and video solutions. The company has unveiled its latest KVM extender called the Extio F2408. The device is more than just a regular KVM that lets the user share a mouse, keyboard, and video, this device significantly extends the range that the KVM can operate at.

The F2408 can shoot the video to four high-resolution displays along with the input from a USB keyboard, mouse, and other input devices up to 3280 feet from the source computer using fiber optic cable. If four screens isn't enough an optional F2408 expander is available that will allow the connection of up to eight displays.

The device can be uses in independent and stretched modes for 4x1 and 2x2 configurations. It has five USB 2.0 ports for connectivity of input devices and uses passive cooling for silent operation. The device can be customized as well using Matrox PowerDesk software. Both the F2408 and the expander will ship in December at an undisclosed price.
