Marvel's Daredevil: early years teased in new trailer

The premiere of Marvel's Daredevil series is officially only a month away, and to mark the occasion Marvel has released another trailer. These trailer releases, for those who have been following them, have stuck more or less to a linear pattern, showing a bit more of the character's progression alongside the core of the story line each time, and this latest one doesn't break the pattern. In the last trailer we saw Daredevil bring his dark side to the forefront, and in this latest trailer that is expanded upon, alongside some glimpses of his younger years.

Daredevil, of course, chronicles the life of blind lawyer Matt Murdock and his mission to make Hell's Kitchen a better place by dealing with its "underground terror". That takes Murdock to some dark places himself, however, blurring the line between hero and villain. His motives are never questioned, however, and we hear them again parroted in the new trailer below.

Says Daredevil, "When I was a kid I used to dream of what it would be like to live somewhere far away from Hell's Kitchen, but I realized the city was part of me, it was in my blood, and I'd do anything to make it a better place." And from here we get a brief look at Murdock's early start in life.

Daredevil's mentor is seen, and he says that he will train Murdock, something we likewise get a look at. It doesn't last long, however, before we're back to the dark city and its dark happenings. "Good and evil," says Daredevil, "sometimes the differences between the two is a sharp line, sometimes it is a blur. Sometimes you have to do things outside of the law."

The series premieres on Netflix on April 10.
