Marshall vs. Capcom mixes Street Fighter's music with Eminem

Art is a funny thing. There are things in this world that you wouldn't ever think to put together, because they just don't have anything in common. At least not on the surface. But then someone comes along, mixes two of your favorite things together, and suddenly something wonderful is born. And that's exactly what happened when one group decided to mix Eminem with Street Fighter.

Since Street Fighter V was just released this week, the guys calling themselves Otaku Gang decided to take some of the best tracks from the game, and mix them with their favorite Eminem tracks. The result is called Marshall vs. Capcom. I love the name, which is a clever twist on the classic fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom.

I'm honestly not a big fan of Eminem. I appreciate his talent, but his music just isn't my thing. Despite this, I think the mashups are fantastic. I've been listening to them since I first stumbled on them, and it's really worth a listen, if you're a fan of the games, the rapper, or both.

Apparently the duo Solar Slim and Richie Branson, who put together the tracks, had a difficult time mixing them. According to Solar Slim "His flow is so crazy, it's all over the place," Solar Slim says of remixing Eminem. "And he sings on pretty much everything. From a producer's standpoint, you can't just make a beat. You can't just make sure that the beat fits around it and the groove fits around it. Now you have to match the key. When you're dealing with samples, we're only limited to Street Fighter samples, the challenge becomes so much greater."
