Lyft and SeatGeek team to drop riders off near their event seats

Lyft has teamed up with SeatGeek to make its service more convenient for riders attending events. With this new partnership, Lyft drivers will be able to get as close to the rider's seat as possible, helping ensure they're close to the right entrance for pickup and drop-off. This prevents long walks and wasted minutes.READ: Lyft Personal Plan subscriptions lock the price for regular routes

Put simply, some stadiums and event centers are very large with multiple entrances. If someone orders a Lyft car to or from one of these destinations, it is possible the driver will stop or arrive at an entrance that is far away from the rider's seat, requiring them to navigate to the driver or their seat.

Under this partnership, Lyft riders will be able to order a ride through the SeatGeek app, which will automatically note their seat location in the Lyft app. The driver will be able to see this detail and deliver them to the point closest to their reserved spot.

Depending on the venue and location, this could save riders a significant amount of time. According to Lyft, it'll offer the feature to riders visiting Providence Park starting next season. The company didn't reveal a timeframe or plan for expanding the feature to other locations.
