Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon for Nintendo 3DS launches this month

Back in 2001, Nintendo launched a video game focused on Mario's brother Luigi called Luigi's Mansion. Nintendo has announced that the sequel to that game is set to launch on March 24, which is this coming Sunday. The game will be a Nintendo 3DS exclusive title.

The game is called Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and promises to be a spooky adventure for Luigi fans. The game has a number of ghosts that need to be captured, puzzles to be solved, and haunted mansions to explore. The game kicks off Nintendo's Year of Luigi that will see Mario's younger brother celebrated with a number of new video games during 2013.

In Dark Moon, Luigi has to explore several unique mansions featuring colorful 3-D visuals. Each mansion has numerous ghosts that Luigi has to capture and challenging puzzles for players to solve. The game also features treasure for Luigi to collect.

Luigi will capture the ghosts using his Poltergust 5000 vacuum cleaner and new abilities unlocked during the game. Players can replay each mission to improve their score by collecting more treasure or losing less health. Nintendo says that almost every object in the rooms of the game mansions can be interacted with. The game will also support multiple player modes with up to four players using local wireless, download, or online play.
