Lenovo Yoga C940 and C740 offer flexibility, 4K HDR and 10th-gen Intel
Lenovo is back with four new Yoga laptops, three in its C-series and another in its S-series. As with the Yoga laptops before it, the new lineup features flexible hinges that enable users to fold the models' displays back into tablet modes. The company has packed a variety of features include the new laptops, including (depending on model and configuration) things like Dolby Vision, 10th-gen Intel hardware, and USB-C.
Lenovo Yoga C940

At the top of Lenovo's new Yoga C-Series lineup is the Yoga C940, a laptop offering up to a 4K VESA DisplayHDR 400 screen with ultra-slim bezels, Dolby Vision, and 500 nits brightness. The laptop is available in two models, one with a 14-inch display, another with a 15.6-inch display. Screen options vary based on size but start at Full HD 1920 x 1080 400 nits.
The smaller model is offered with two processor options: the 10th-gen Intel Core i5 and i7; the larger model can be purchased with the 9th-gen Intel Core i7 and i9 options. Both models are available with up to 16GB of RAM and various storage options up to 1TB. As well, both models feature Dolby Atmos audio, two base speakers, a rotating soundbar, fingerprint sensor, webcam privacy shutter, and far-field microphones.
Battery life depends on model and display, ranging from 9 hours to 12 hours for the 15.6-inch option and from 9.5 hours to 17.5 hours for the 14-inch model. Ports vary slightly based on size but include Thunderbolt 3, USB-A, DisplayPort, and a combo audio jack.
The 14" and 15" C940 will be available in October starting at 1,249.99 USD and 1,709.99 USD, respectively.
Lenovo Yoga C740
The new Yoga C740 is an ultrabook that offers long battery life alongside high performance and a classy design. In addition to the signature Yoga flexibility, the C740 offers two display size options — 14-inch and 15.6-inch — as well as up to the 10th-gen Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage.
The model's 14-inch display option features Full HD resolution with Dolby Vision, 300 nits brightness, and touch support. The larger 15.6-inch option features a Full HD resolution with VESA400 HDR, Dolby Vision, 500 nits brightness, and touch support. There's also an alternative option with 250 nits, Dolby Vision, and touch support.
Other features and options include WiFi 6, USB-C, DisplayPort, Intel integrated graphics, fingerprint sensor, Pen support, a privacy webcam shutter, and far-field microphones. The smaller model gets up to 13.7 hours of battery life and the larger model gets up to 15 hours of battery life.
The 14" and 15" C740 will be available in October starting at $869.99 and $899.99 USD, respectively.
Lenovo Yoga C640
The Lenovo Yoga C640 is a lightweight ultrabook sporting up to the 10th-gen Intel Core i7, though the model will also be available with i3 and i5 processor options. Users can choose either 8GB or 16GB of RAM, 128GB to 512GB of SSD storage, plus there's Intel HD 620 graphics, user-facing stereo speakers, and up to 20 hours of battery life.
The C640 is offered with 13.3-inch Full HD display options, both featuring touchscreen support, one with 300 nits max brightness and the other with 400 nits brightness. Other features and options include 4G LTE, WiFi 6, far-field microphones, a privacy webcam shutter, Pen support, and Dolby Atmos.
The 13" C640 will be available in October starting at $849.99 USD.
Lenovo Yoga S740
Joining the three new Yoga C-Series laptops is the newly announced Yoga S740, an ultrabook offering display, graphics, and processing hardware options to meet the needs of graphics professionals. Users can choose a 14-inch or 15.6-inch size with display options ranging from Full HD with Dolby Vision (14") all the way up to a 15.6-inch 3840 x 2160 Ultra HD VESA400 HDR IPS display with 500 nits brightness and 90% DCI-P3 color space.
Joining the screen options is the 10th-gen Intel Core i5/i7 processors for the 14-inch version and the 9th-gen Intel Core i5/i7/i9 processors for the 15.6-inch version. Users can choose up to the NVIDIA GeForce MX250 2GB GPU or Intel HD 620 graphics for the smaller version and the GeForce GTX 1650 GPU for the larger model.
Both models feature Dolby Atmos, though only the larger version also features Smart AMP. Users can expect 10 to 15 hours of battery life for the 14-inch variant and 10 to 14 hours of battery life for the 15.6-inch version. Both models have nearly the same starting weight at 3.1lbs and 3.2lbs, respectively. Connectors include Thunderbolt 3, USB-A, DisplayPort, and an audio jack. The smaller model has far-field microphones while the larger model has a fixed-focus microphone.
The 15" S740 will be available in October starting at $1,709.99 USD.
