Lenovo ThinkPad X200 Tablet Gets New CPUs In Canada
Lenovo Canada are offering ThinkPad X200 Tablet PC buyers a newly-expanded range of processor options, more than twice as many as US buyers can configure their touchscreen ultraportables with. The Canadian X200 gets not only a choice of the original SU9300 1.20GHz and SL9400 1.86GHz CPUs as the US model, but up to a 2.13GHz Core 2 Duo SL9600 low-voltage chip.
That's in addition to the Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 ULV 1.40GHz processor and Core 2 Duo SU9600 1.60GHz chip. A broader range of processors, including CULV chips, was tipped at the end of April.
The new offerings mean it's possible to specify a slower, more power-frugal X200 Tablet, or a faster, comparatively less mobile version (at least in terms of battery life). We're assuming that Lenovo will be rolling out the new CPUs to the US market (and likely everywhere else the X200 Tablet is sold) at some point in the near future.
