Leica TL is a modest update to the 'T' mirrorless camera

Leica has launched a modestly updated version of its Leica T mirrorless camera, the new Leica TL. This model brings some notable but relatively small changes over the previous model, including a higher storage capacity and a new color option that sets it apart. Some of the great aspects from the Leica T remain, however, including the 16-megapixel APS-C sensor and the same general body design.

The Leica T mirrorless camera was first launched in 2014, and it has been a photography favorite since then. This new model keeps all the things fans love, but brings some necessary improvements, including the aforementioned storage increase (to 32GB) and improvements to the camera's auto focus, something Leica says is especially improved in AF-C mode. The Leica TL also better supports other Leica camera system lenses.

Those with a Leica TL will be able to use SL-Lenses with optical image stabilization, for example, as well as the maker's R-System lenses via the R-Adapter L. At launch, Leica is offering the camera in a new titanium color option, as well as silver and black options. The titanium version has a bevelled edge at the top and bottom to help set it apart.

Leica has also created a new Leica TL app for the camera model, enabling photographers to share their photographers from an Android or iOS device on social networks and via email. The company is also offering accessories for the camera, including a Nappa leather protector that allows access to the battery, as well as a carrying straps in various colors like stone grey, red, and black. The camera launches this month for $1,695 USD.
