Latest Pixel 3 teaser keeps us guessing about Super Selfie Mode

With Google's Pixel 3 reveal event just around the corner, the company has started pumping out teasers. Earlier this week, we saw a teaser that mocked the Pixel Ultra rumors from earlier in the summer, but this time around, the teaser has to do with an actual Pixel 3 feature. That's the presumption, at least.

Back at the end of August, we heard a rumor that claimed the Pixel 3 will come with a pair of front-facing cameras instead of just a single one. Google apparently has decided to double up on front cameras to make selfies better – in fact, that rumor claimed the Pixel 3's "Super Selfie Mode" will improve shots taken with the front-facing cameras through things like an added bokeh effect and a beefed up Portrait Mode.

As it turns out, that rumor has caught Google's attention, just as the Pixel Ultra rumors did. Google's latest Pixel 3 teaser, which was posted late last night to the Made by Google Twitter account, mentions Super Selfie Mode directly, but like any good teaser, doesn't confirm anything either way.

"The Internet has speculated that there's a 'Super Selfie Mode' coming," the teaser reads. "Sorry Internet — no comment. Tune in 10/9 to see what we've really been working on." October 9, of course, is the date Google has set aside for its Pixel 3 reveal event. While the "no comment" may lead folks to believe that Google is indeed planning to include a Super Selfie Mode in the Pixel 3, the final part of Google's statement suggests otherwise. In short: It leaves us guessing, which is precisely what Google wanted.

So, while we don't know if Super Selfie Mode is a real thing after seeing this teaser, at least we don't have long to wait before we find out for sure. We'll be covering Google's Pixel 3 event as it happens, so be sure to check back with us then to see all of our coverage from the event. It'll definitely be an event worth following, so stay tuned.
