Lamborghini Polo Storico restores Miura SVR

One of the most iconic of Lamborghini cars has been restored to former glory by Lamborghini Polo Storico. The car is one of the incredibly rare Miura SVR cars chassis number #3781. One of the things that makes this Miura SVR so famous is that it was the model used by Kyosho in Japan to create 1:18 scale models.

The car was also featured in a Japanese magna "Circuit Wolf." The car has engine number 2511 under the hood and body number 383. It was originally an S version pained Verde Miura with a black interior.

It was initially delivered to the Lamborauto dealership in Turin, Italy on November 20, 1968, after it was displayed at the 50th Turin Motor Show. The car was eventually purchased in 1974 by Heinz Straber who had the car converted into an SVR by Lamborghini. That transformation took 18 months.

In 1976 the car was sold again to Hiromitsu Ito where it began its famous Japanese life. The current restoration took 19 months and rather than being done to the build sheet was done on the specs of the 1974 modifications.

Variations to the original specs from 1974 include 4-point safety belts, more supporting seats, and a removable roll bar. Those modifications were to make the car safer during racetrack exhibitions. There is no indication of how much the restoration cost.
