Karma Automotive SC2 Gallery

Karma Automotive may be best known for saving the four-door hybrid from its bankruptcy fate, but the automaker is also hoping to position itself as a specialist in high-tech performance EV technology. That's the idea behind the Karma SC2 Concept, a seductive coupe that doesn't stint on performance. All-wheel drive, and pure-electric, it totes 1,100 horsepower.

That's good for a ridiculous 0-60 mph time of less than 1.9 seconds, Karma says. Courtesy of a surprisingly large 120 kWh battery, the SC2 should be able to do 350 miles on a charge, the automaker suggests. Carbon ceramic brakes, a push-rod suspension system, and the automaker's own torque vectoring gearbox should make sure at least some of those miles are entertaining.

Inside, there's a fiber optic roof and electrochromatic glass, which can dim to opaque for privacy. Plenty of leather and exposed carbon fiber keep it feeling suitably luxurious, and there's custom luggage too. Sadly Karma doesn't seem to have SC2 production in mind, instead positioning the concept coupe as a showcase of some of the technology it could help develop for others.
