JVC introduces PICSIO GC-FM1 HD video camera
Video cameras are very popular, especially small ones that are designed for use on the go and uploading directly to popular video sharing sites. JVC has unveiled a new camcorder called the PICSIO GC-FM1 that is designed for users looking for a simple camera that can shoot still shots and HD resolution video. The camera can shoot 8MP still shots in addition to 1080p video.
JVC also equips the camera with image stabilization technology and 4x digital zoom. The camera is sized like a small cell phone and comes in black ice, blue steel, and purple passion colors. On the rear of the camera case is a geometric pattern that reminds me of those shiny hologram looking stickers from my youth.
The camera records MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format video onto SD or SDHC cards. The frame rate for video recording at full 1080p resolution is 30 frames per second. Dropping down to 720p resolution allows for 60 frames per second. The camera can send video directly to iTunes or YouTube in .MOV format. The internal battery charges via USB and the camera has a 2-inch color LCD. The GC-FM1 is available now for $199.95.
