ISS fly-through video shot with 4K fisheye lens is almost like being there

If you are among the masses stranded here on Earth who has dreamed of visiting the ISS odds are you will never get that chance. As close as the vast majority of us will ever get to the ISS is this beautiful fly through that NASA had published of the ISS in 4K resolution. The video was produced by Harmonic exclusively for NASA TV UHD and is over 18 minutes long.

You can watch this video on your PC in less than 4K resolution, but what you really need to get the most out of this video is a big 4K TV and full screen mode. One of the coolest parts about the video is that there is a map of the station overlaid on the side in some scenes and a ticker at the top right that shows you what portion of the ISS you are viewing at the time.

That ticker is a bit small and hard to read if you are watching the video in a smaller window on your PC. The opening scenes of the video are shot in the Cupola that gives a fantastic view of the Earth and some of the components on the outside of the ISS. In those opening scenes if you look out the Cupola windows at the curve of the earth you can actually see satellites whizzing by.

As the video goes through the ISS the ticker gives you an idea of what the sections are used for. The ISS is a very tight space and certainly not for people who have problems with small spaces. I think the grossest part might be the metal canisters used to store both space poop and food. You certainly wouldn't want to mix those canisters up.
