iPhone XR early video reviews arrive ahead of Friday preorders

Apple has provided a select pool of YouTubers with the iPhone XR, ushering in the first round of video reviews. Pre-orders for the device will go live just after midnight on October 19, giving customers the opportunity to order the cheapest of Apple's three new iPhone models. The iPhone XR, unlike the XS and XS Max, features an LCD and single-lens camera.

Earlier this week, Apple confirmed that its new iPhone XR model will launch for preorder at 12:01AM Pacific on October 19. Just ahead of that comes a round of iPhone XR video reviews, these being the first offering the public a look at Apple's new LCD iPhone model.

With a starting price of $749 USD, the iPhone XR is the cheapest among the new iPhone trio. In comparison, the iPhone XS starts at $999 USD and the iPhone XS Max starts at $1,099 USD. Unlike the two XS models, the iPhone XR features a single rear camera, Haptic Touch (rather than 3D Touch), LTE Advanced, an aluminum frame, and an IP67 water-resistance rating.

The iPhone XR sports a 6.1-inch screen and will be available with three storage capacity options: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Customers who choose not to preorder will be able to play with and purchase the model in Apple stores starting on October 26.
