Stylus producer Ten One Design Рbest known for their Pogo stylus, that works with the capacitive touchscreens used on the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad Рhas demonstrated an app which would allow iOS based devices to respond to pen pressure.  Like on a professional graphics tablet, that would allow iPad artists to adjust line-thickness depending on how hard they pressed.

Ten One say they plan to release the pressure-sensitivity as a free software library which can be used in any application based on iOS. ¬†Unfortunately, right now they’re relying on a private function call in order to make it work; as we’ve seen before, Apple’s App Store guardians don’t generally look on such calls favorably, and that could stop any app relying on the new framework from getting approved for official distribution.
