iPad Air 3 rumored to pack 4GB RAM and a 4K screen

As with any launch from a big company like Apple, there are lots of rumors and speculations about what we can expect from the iPad Air 3. The device is said to be launching in March of this year, and we've already started to hear rumored specs for the device. The big news yesterday was regarding the speakers and camera, today it's about the screen.

We already know that the iPad Air 3 is rumored to pack four speakers, much like it's larger (and more expensive) Pro brother. According to a new report from DigiTimes, Apple will be including a 4K screen on the 9.7-inch tablet. What's more, it's also said to pack 4GB of RAM and a much better battery life.

If it's true that they're upgrading the panel to 4K, and adding in the extra speakers, it could mean that they're trying to mimic the look and features of the iPad Pro. It's not necessarily a bad idea to try and offer some of those premium features on an iPad that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

The increase in RAM seems like a logical move. Especially when you consider that the original Air had 1GB, and the current generation of the device had 2GB. Seeing Apple double the RAM again just seems like a smart idea.
