Intel is bringing Penryn processors to the mobile market come January 6th

Almost a month to the day from now, Intel will be unleashing their first mobile processors based on the 45nm process. The models will include the Intel Core 2 Duo T8100, T8300, T9300, T9500, and the Core 2 Extreme X9000 chips.

The slowest, the T8100, will run at 2.1GHz and the T8300 will run at 2.4GHz, both will have 3MB of L2 cache and will cost $209 and $241. The T9300 will run at 2.5GHz and the T9500 will run at 2.6GHz, the T9300 and T9500 will both be sporting 6MB of L2 cache.

The T9300 and T9500 will cost you $316 and $530 each respectively. Last on the list is the X9000 Extreme Edition processor that will be running at 2.8GHz with the same 6MB of L2 cache as its 9000 series siblings. It will also likely be overclockable, and will cost you $851 (ouch!). The non-extreme models will use 35 watts of power while the Extreme one will use a hungry 44 watts.
