Imgur renews mobile focus with new iOS app

Imgur, a long-running staple of the Reddit community, has decided to begin dabbling in mobile apps again, resuming its app-based efforts following a failed attempt in the past. Earlier this week, the company released an app for iOS users on the App Store, and with it mobile users can more easily browse content on the website alongside an attractive design and the tools you'd expect. Android users will still be stuck with third-party options for now, but an official option will be surfacing soon.

The app will be getting more features in the future, including one that users probably expected to see upon launch — the ability to upload images from your mobile device. Still, those who enjoy browsing content on the site and prefer to use mobile devices will find it a solid initial offering, with a clean interface and decent enough features.

Users can share content they find on Twitter and Facebook, among other social networks, and can do typical upvoting/downvoting of content. There's threading and seamless commenting for keeping up with the comments, and access to one's user pofiles and the content found in it.

The app clocks in at 33.4MB and is available in several languages with support for iOS 7.0 or later. It has been optimized for the iPhone5/6/6 Plus. There's no specific date provided for when the additional features will be showing up, but it is promised that it'll be soon.
