HyperX Cloud Alpha S gaming headset debuts with virtual 7.1 surround sound

HyperX has revealed its new Cloud Alpha S gaming headset at Computex 2019. The model is designed to meet the unique audio needs of gamers, including dual chamber technology for what HyperX says is accurate sound effect reproduction. Users are given an element of control over the audio experience via an adjustable bass slider, plus there's virtual 7.1 surround sound support and more.

As with any gaming headset, the new HyperX Cloud Alpha S is designed first and foremost for video game use. The model utilizes dual chamber technology to produce what HyperX claims is 'incredible range and tone,' as well as accurate sound effects.

The system works by separating the bass from the mid and high audio, paving the way for more realistic audio experiences. That dual chamber tech makes it possible for users to manually control the bass level using an adjustable slider; there's also a custom-tuned audio control box for virtual 7.1 surround sound.

As far as controlling the audio experience is concerned, HyperX enables users to balance the game audio with chat audio to suit their needs. When compared with some competing gaming headsets, the newly unveiled model has a relatively modest, though still distinctly 'gamer-esque,' design.

Users get large cushioned over-ear cups alongside a cushioned adjustable headband, old-school adjustable microphone with foam cover, and colorful rotating hinges. The HyperX Cloud Alpha S gaming headset will be available starting in September for $129.99 USD.
