Huawei Mate 20 leaks confirm curved sides
Huawei has been making fun of Samsung and Apple after their respective smartphone announcements and, in little less than a month, we'll find out if it won't deserve such mockery as well. Granted, almost everything about the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro have more or less been confirmed leaked or, in the case of the Kirin 980 processor, officially announced. But if you're still waiting for more, then here are two that show off the smartphone's very curved and very reflective edges.
Curved screen edges have more or less been a Samsung thing. There are a few OEMs that dared sport that now-dubbed "Infinity Display" (perhaps after an infinity pool) design, but no one dared to make it last more than one or two generations. Huawei may be doing so, at least to differentiate its Mates series.
WinFuture's Roland Quandt took to Twitter to post two images of the Huawei Mate 20. Or the Mate 20 Pro. Truth be told, like Quandt, we're still not sure what will differentiate these two, especially when you can't see the back.
Another peek at the Huawei Mate 20 (Pro). Not so sure anymore if this is Pro or non-Pro, sorry. pic.twitter.com/AVVhQahi74

If there were still any doubts about the Mate 20 (or Mate 20 Pro) sporting curved edges, these will drive those away. Quandt notes, however, how the curves introduce reflections that are mostly absent on very flat screens. Samsung Galaxy owners, however, don't seem to be bothered by that.
Here's a li'l peek at the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. More later. Lots of screen, I can already see myself hating the reflexions cause by the curved sides. pic.twitter.com/sAr9VaYETr

These images, sadly, don't confirm the one thing about Huawei's next flagship that we still know so little about: their cameras. There's little doubt Huawei will once again flaunt its still unique triple camera setup but, if other leaks are correct, it will adopt a rather strange design for it. Huawei has scheduled Mate 20 event on October 16.
