Honda prices up the 2016 Civic

Honda's tenth-generation Civic will kick off at $18,640, while the hotly-anticipated turbo version will begin at $22,200. Full pricing for the 2016 Civic was announced today, along with the official EPA mileage figures for the new car.

The 2016 Civic will launch first in the US in sedan form, with a choice of two engine types. The entry-level car will pair a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and is rated for 27 mpg in the city, 40 mpg on the highway, and 31 mpg combined.

The same car can be had with a CVT (continuously variable transmission) for $19,440, and in that form is rated for 31/41/35 mpg for city, highway, and combined.

Honda Sensing, the safety package featuring tech like adaptive cruise control, adds an extra $1k.

However, it's at $22,200 when the Civic EX-T weighs in that things get really interesting. That may be smaller, at 1.5-liters, but it's up on horsepower (174 HP versus 158 HP on the 2.0L) and torque (162 lb-ft versus 138). It's also more frugal, rated at 31/42/35 mpg for city, highway, and combined.

The turbo too can be had with Honda Sensing, from $23,200, while navigation is standard-fit from $24,700 on up.
