The new Eyes Free integration will let Honda and Acura drivers use Siri without having to touch their iPhone. Many of Siri's built-in functions will be integrated. The upgrade follows an industry trend of increasing voice command functionality for drivers who need to stay connected while on the road.

So far according to Honda, the available features include:

Sending text messages and e-mails

Reading incoming text messages and emails

Setting up calendar entries, reminders, and alarms

Checking the weather

Turn-by-turn voice navigation (when the audio system is set to Bluetooth® Audio or iPod mode)

Sports scores and stock quotes

Siri Eyes Free works with iPhone 4s, 5, 5c, and 5s; 3rd- and 4rd-gen iPad; iPad Air and mini; and 5th-gen iPod touch. More features will be announced in the coming days. The company has scheduled a Google Hangout on Dec. 3 to spell everything out.
