Halo Wars 2 for Windows 10 will get a physical retail release

THQ Nordic has announced a partnership with Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries that will result in the physical release of Halo Wars 2 for Windows 10. Those who pick up the physical retail version of the game will also be given access to the digital Xbox One edition thanks to Xbox Play Anywhere. Both Ultimate Edition and Standard Edition will be offered in retail stores.

THQ Nordic says the physical retail version of both the Standard Edition and the Ultimate Edition will offer the digital access, though the Ultimate Edition will offer digital access four day before the official release. The Ultimate Edition will also include the enhanced version of Halo Wars (Definitive Edition) with all the DLC content.

Finally, the Ultimate Edition will also include an exclusive Season Pass that'll deliver updates for more than six months. The Season Pass will bring additional campaign missions, new Blitz cards and units, as well as new leaders. Ultimate Edition will be available on February 17, while the Standard Edition won't arrive until February 21.

343 Industries' Studio Head of Strategy Games Development Dan Ayoub said:
