H1Z1 Battle Pass Season 2 Arrives On PS4 With Exclusive Outfit
Daybreak Games has announced the release of H1Z1: Battle Royale Battle Pass Season 2 for the PlayStation 4. The game's North America PS4 servers went offline at 8AM PST today, ushering in the new season for Battle Pass players. The premium option includes 75 tiers with rewards that are progressively unlocked as the player levels up.H1Z1 is a battle royale game that was quickly eclipsed by runaway success Fortnite. It would be fair to say that Daybreak has taken a page out of Epic's book, the end result being a similar Battle Pass for players who enjoy the game enough fork over real world cash.
Players can purchase the Battle Pass Season 2 in-game for 750 Crowns; alternatively, they can get the premium pass with the first 25 tiers automatically unlocked for 2700 Crowns, which is 38-percent off what it would otherwise cost. According to the PlayStation Store, 1,050 crowns cost $9.99 USD.
PlayStation 4 owners have an exclusive purchasing option in the PS Store: the Battle Pass with an exclusive Skull Ops Outfit for $19.99 USD. Alternatively, and as in the past, PS Plus subscribers automatically unlock a battle pass "line" upon logging in, as do free players. As with Fortnite's battle pass, Daybreak allows H1Z1 Season 2 players to level up to the next tier with a one-time 150 Crowns purchase.
H1Z1 Battle Pass Season 2 features "a few" entirely new types of rewards, according to the company, and players get rewards for each unlocked tier. The update also brings 10 new Daily Challenges and bug fixes. The latter includes a fix for the Combat Shotgun's rarity type, a problem with emote animations, and a stats reset issue.
Daybreak says it is still probing an issue that may result in leaderboard stats showing up improperly. Players are encouraged to provide details if they manage to spot this bug in the wild. Finally, the company is reseting the player leaderboard stats with the start of Season 2.
Overall, it's a great second season for the game, offering more than double the 30 tiers included with Season 1. Players also enjoy four new outfits and new weapon skins with the new Battle Pass, while free players still have the option of not spending any money at all. The game is available to download now on PC and PlayStation 4.
