VW ID.3 Gallery

Volkswagen has named its first car to use the MEB all-electric platform, and it's the VW ID.3 hatchback. Entering the competitive European compact segment, the EV is expected to begin production in late 2019. Deliveries will then kick off in mid-2020.

There'll be three different battery capacities to choose between. They'll range from 205 to 342 miles, though that's on the WLTP European cycle, which is a little less intensive than the US EPA cycle. Initially, VW will offer the VW ID.3 1ST, a limited-edition of 30,000 of the cars.

Different trims will offer features like voice control, navigation, and an augmented reality head-up display. All 1ST edition cars will get 2,000 kWh of electricity to use in the first year, from VW's charging network partners. Reservations are open now.
