Sondors Metacycle Gallery

The electric motorcycle is hardly commonplace yet, but Sondors aims to upend even a fledgling segment with its Metacycle. Targeting a price tag a sixth of what Harley-Davidson demands for its high-end Livewire electric motorcycle, the Metacycle will be just $5,000, Sondors says, when it launches in Q4 2021. That's despite looking a lot like something from a science fiction movie set.

The compromise is range, with the 4,000 WHr battery good for 80 miles of riding. That, Sondors argues, makes it ideal for urban commuting, as does the 80 lb-ft of normal torque and 8 KWh (11hp) of normal power. Top speed is 80 mph.

It recharges either from a public charger or by removing the battery and bringing it indoors: figure on four hours for a full charge in the latter case. On the top of the bike is a wireless charging pad for your phone, and as you'd expect the whole instrument panel is digital.
