How do you make the McLaren 720S even more potent on the track? You give it the Longtail treatment, with the British automaker lengthening, lightening, and pumping up the power to create the limited-edition McLaren 765LT. Latest car to bear the "LT" badge, the new 765LT squeezes more power out of McLaren's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8.

That now makes 755 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, which is enough for a top speed of 205 mph. 0-60 mph arrives in 2.7 seconds; 0-124 arrives in only 7.2 seconds. It's paired with McLaren's 7-speed SSG transmission, now with a mode that allows it to bounce briefly off the rev limited during aggressive downshifts.

Outside and in, shedding weight has been the primary motivation. Plenty of carbon fiber and a new rear wing with three positions keep mass down and the aerodynamics ideal. Only 765 people will get to buy one when production kicks off late in 2020.
