Lamborghini Sián Roadster Gallery

Lamborghini's striking Sián has shed its roof, with the automaker slicing off the top for nineteen very special versions. No less dramatic in design for losing the coupe profile, the Sián Roadster keeps the Countach-inspired design cues and plenty of aero work. That includes a retracting spoiler at the rear, and bold Y-shaped lamps.

The big appeal, though, is the drivetrain. Lamborghini pairs a V12 gas engine with an e-motor combined with the transmission. Together they're good for 819 horsepower and 0-62 mph in under 2.9 seconds. The e-motor is powered by a supercapacitor, selected as it's smaller and lighter than a li-ion battery, but without sacrificing capacity.

It helps the Lamborghini move on electric power during low-speed maneuvers and when reversing, but also helps with an acceleration boost and to smooth out the gearbox shifts. The result is one smooth wave of acceleration. Top speed is over 217 mph, and unsurprisingly Lamborghini has already sold every car.
