Behind the Scenes at Formula 1 Gallery

When you're racing super-high-performance cars, timing is everything, but there's more to it than just the circuit itself. Taking the spectacle of Formula 1 on the road each season is no small challenge. In fact, just as soon as the checkered flag comes down, the teams are packing everything up and ready to head off to the next location.

For the Formula 1 organizers, that's even more complex. Miles of fiber optic cabling connects a network of cameras and microphones covering the whole track. That gets fed back to a high-tech control center – also taken on the road each week – and crafted in real-time into an international TV show for worldwide broadcast.

It's all undertaken with official timekeeping partner of Formula 1, Rolex.
