Audi Q8 Concept Gallery

Audi's Q8 Concept make look like an SUV, but the German automaker has borrowed plenty of coupe styling for its new luxury vision. Previewing a production car expected to launch in 2018, the Q8 Concept has seating for just four inside, each person getting high-end sedan levels of cosseting. Indeed, with the light color leather and dashboard surfaces, this might not be an SUV you want to use to play in the mud.

That's not to say it couldn't, mind. There's a hybrid powertrain with a 3.0-liter TFSI engine and electric motors, good altogether for 330 kW (402 HP) and 516 lb-ft. of torque. Quattro all-wheel drive is fitted, along with air-suspension with 3.5-inches of adjustable ride height. Smarts behind the scenes can look to the route ahead to figure out when to use electric power and when to use gas.

Though it may be a concept, there's production sheet metal coming. Whether that will have quite the bold styling remains to be seen, and the touchscreen-loaded interior may be tamed down slightly. Still, it offers an intriguing alternative to a Range Rover or even Bentley's opulent Bentayga.
