Amazon September 2018 Event Gallery

Amazon's big September 2018 event promised plenty of Alexa and Echo news, and the retailer delivered. Updates across software and hardware have fleshed out the Echo range both in the home and away from it. Meanwhile, Alexa itself has thousands of new talents, with more integrations in the pipeline.

On the speaker side, there's a new Echo Show 2nd-gen with a much larger screen, and a new Echo Dot 3rd-gen. An Echo Auto adds Alexa to your dashboard, while the Echo Plus 2nd-gen is an updated smart home hub. The Fire TV Recast, meanwhile, adds DVR support to your Fire TV devices.

The new Ring Stick Up Cam comes in wired and wireless versions, and works outside and in. Then there are the more unusual products. The Alexa Wall Clock gives a visual indication of the assistant's countdowns, while the Amazon Basics Microwave can be controlled by a nearby Echo.
