2022 Subaru BRZ Gallery

Subaru's BRZ built a reputation on affordable performance, and the new 2022 BRZ aims to do that and more. New for MY22, the revamped BRZ gets bolder styling on the outside, slightly lower and longer than the old car for a more aggressive look. More of the venting is functional now, too, helping with downforce and cooling.

There's a new engine under the hood, a 2.4-liter BOXER. Naturally-aspirated, it offers 228 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 184 lb-ft of torque at 3,700 rpm. Two transmissions will be offered: a 6-speed manual as standard, or a 6-speed automatic with paddle-shifters as an option. Both get a limited-slip rear differential.

Subaru's interior has had a big upgrade too, with a new driver display, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system running the company's latest software, and standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It's still a 2+2, so don't expect huge space in the rear, but then again passengers have never really been what the BRZ is all about. Sales kick off in the US in fall 2021.
