2022 Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Gallery

Black Badge has been wildly successful for Rolls-Royce; more so than the British automaker would ever have envisaged when it launched the subbrand five years ago. Part of the company's push to appeal to younger drivers – and lower its average client age in the process – the darker, more sinister twist on traditional luxury has proved a hit. Now, it's the turn of the Ghost sedan to get the Black Badge treatment.

It certainly looks the part. The exterior brightwork has been given a dark-tinted finish, including the grille and Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament. A new black paint with a high-gloss, hand-polished finish is paired with a coachline; similar efforts inside give the controls a distinctive look. Rolls-Royce has, of course, no shortage of trim materials to choose from, but there's a new option which combines carbon fiber weave with metal thread atop a black Bolivar wood base.

As for performance, the 6.75-liter V12 engine is tuned for 591 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 mph takes just 4.5 seconds, and the Black Badge Ghost will hurtle on all the way to 155 mph before the electronic limiters kick in. Not bad at all for $400k+.
