Cadillac has a taste for fast sedans, and its fastest will now wear an exclusive badge: Blackwing. The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing and CT4-V Blackwing take the automaker's luxury models and give them a performance makeover, aiming to build something that can live up to the reputations of the ATS-V and CTS-V. That's a high bar, but familiar engines help.

The CT5-V Blackwing gets a tweaked version of the 6.2-liter supercharged V8. That's good for 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque, with 0-60 mph arriving in approximately 3.7 seconds. Top speed is in excess of 200 mph, and unusually there's a six-speed manual transmission as standard, with a 10-speed automatic an option. An eLSD and Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 help keep the RWD sedan from getting too unruly.

As for the CT4-V Blackwing, that's a little smaller, and gets Cadillac's 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6. It means you get 472 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque to play with, enough for a top speed of 189 mph and 0-60 mph in an estimated 3.8 seconds. eLSD and MR4.0 are both standard too.
