2021 Lexus LC 500 Convertible Gallery

Lexus has sliced the top off its flagship coupe, and the 2021 Lexus LC 500 Convertible leaves the car arguably never looking better. Headed to the market in summer 2020, it keeps the regular LC 500's naturally-aspirated V8 engine. That's good for 471 hp.

You'll be able to hear it better, though, with the soft top down. Lexus says it used a new lightweight die-cast aluminum suspension brace, and a performance dampener to increase comfort and stiffness, despite the loss of the roof and the weight of the convertible mechanism.

That mechanism manages to keep the distinctive deck of the LC, shifting the center brake light into the trunk lid. It's a four layer top, designed so that the supporting frame doesn't show through. It'll work at vehicle speeds of up to 31 mph.
