2021 Chevrolet Corvette Gallery

Classic icon meets modern-day platform. The Corvette C8 was always going to be controversial, but Chevrolet's decision to switch to a mid-engine architecture for its attainable icon seems to have paid off. The eighth-generation Corvette definitely drives the part, with a $67,200 starting price belying a coupe that's more than capable of holding its own against exotics two, even three times its sticker.

Outside, the looks are still divisive, but you can't argue with a 6.2-liter V8 engine. With the Z51 Performance Package that packs 495 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. In that case 0-60 mph arrives in just 2.9 seconds.

What stands out, though, isn't just that the C8 is fast in a straight line, and fast in corners, but how usable day to day it can be too. Twist the drive mode dial to Tour and you're looking at a true GT, too – and one with room for a couple of golf bags.
