2020 Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster Gallery

If you were tasked with drawing the epitome of the performance convertible, the end result would probably look a whole lot like the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster. Long hood, a two-seater cabin pushed almost back to the rear axle, and no shortage of power bulges, it certainly nails the classic sports car look. While you may not get the big fixed rear wing of the more expensive AMG GT R, this $162,400 (plus destination) droptop is still hardly surreptitious.

The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine means that, even if you don't see it, you'll hear it coming. 550 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque mean a 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds. Top speed is 196 mph.

Inside, the cabin is snug but high-quality, with heated and ventilated seats that include an "Airscarf" to keep your neck warm. Various drive modes can either tame the GT for everyday driving, or unleash the full potential of its rear-wheel steering, electronically controlled limited-slip differential, and those chunky tires.
