2019 VW Arteon Gallery

Fresh to the "sedan that thinks it's a coupe" segment is this, the 2019 Volkswagen Arteon, a car that might give VW Group stablemate Audi pause for thought. Making its debut on US shores at the Chicago Motor Show 2018, the Arteon is officially the successor to the Volkswagen CC. However, the automaker argues it's more powerful, more luxurious, and generally more premium all-round than its predecessor.

On the outside that means a sweeping roof-line, broad grille, and glimmering touches like LED daytime running lights and some chrome trim. Inside, there are sports seats and Volkswagen's latest infotainment system. All the same, some of the nicest features are left on the options list, like massage seating, higher-spec leather, and VW's fully digital driver instrumentation.

Under the hood, VW's 2.0-liter TSI engine is good for 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, with 4MOTION all-wheel drive an option. Pricing will be confirmed closer to the 2019 Arteon's arrival in US dealerships, which is set to happen around Q3 of this year.
